Initial Setup

Test Access
Verify that authorized users can see the ProjectClone option in their project menus.
Your First Project Clone
Let's walk through cloning your first project:
Navigate to Source Project
Go to the project you want to use as a template. In the project sidebar, click Project settings.
Access ProjectClone
In the project settings menu, look for "Clone Project" in the left sidebar under the ProjectClone section.
Configure Clone Settings
Fill in the new project details:
New Project Name: "Marketing Team Q1"
Project Key: MKTQ1
Project Lead: john.doe@company.com
Select Schemes to Copy
Choose which schemes and configurations to clone:
- Workflow Scheme: Copy custom workflows and transitions
- Permission Scheme: Maintain user access controls
- Issue Type Scheme: Copy custom issue types
- Field Configuration: Preserve field settings
- Components: Clone project components with leads
You can choose to copy schemes from the source project or use existing schemes. Copying schemes creates independent configurations for the new project.
Execute Clone
Click "Clone Project" and wait for the process to complete. This usually takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on project complexity.
Verification
After cloning, verify everything was copied correctly:
Project Structure
Check that components, versions, and project roles are correctly configured.
Workflows & Schemes
Verify workflows, issue types, and field configurations are working as expected.
User Permissions
Test that team members have appropriate access levels and project roles.
Your new project is ready for use. All configurations, schemes, and settings have been preserved from the source project. Team members can now start creating issues and working in the cloned project immediately.
